The former president of the Supreme Court of Justice, Graciela Dixon, expressed her concern about the upcoming visit of U.S. Senator Marco Rubio to Panama. In this regard, she emphasized that the issue of the Panama Canal should not be part of the agenda during this visit, as she believes this matter is closed.
Dixon stressed that the world cannot be based on authoritarian decisions and whims of a single leader, highlighting the importance of respecting international law and established treaties. She also pointed out the relevance of maintaining a respectful bilateral relationship based on dialogue between Panama and the United States.
"The Panama Canal is a matter that has already been resolved and should not be used as a bargaining chip in political negotiations," Graciela Dixon stated. Additionally, she called for maintaining stability and peace in the region, promoting an environment of cooperation and mutual respect between both nations.
