The Civic Committee of the Communities of Donoso, Omar Torrijos, and La Pintada has expressed its desire to participate in the consultation that will be held regarding the reopening of Minera Panamá. This announcement came after the second block of Bill 163 received approval in the first debate.
Members of these communities have made it clear that they want their voices to be heard and considered in this process. In the words of the committee: 'Enough of others speaking for us.'
It is important for them to have an active role in the decisions that will directly affect their communities and the environment in which they live. Therefore, they are actively requesting to be included in the consultation that will take place before the reopening of the mine.
