The President of Panama stated that the country will not prolong the memorandum on cooperation under the initiative "One Belt, One Road". Instead, a bilateral commission will be established between the USA and Panama, which will address issues related to the Panama Canal.
In the course of his statement, the president noted that the decision not to extend the memorandum on cooperation under the initiative "One Belt, One Road" was made in connection with the inconsistency of interests of Panama and the stated commitments regarding previous agreements.
"We are confident that the establishment of a commission between Panama and the USA will help effectively address issues related to the Panama Canal and strengthen cooperation between our countries," the president emphasized.
