Trump reprimands Secretary after Panama meeting

After a meeting in Panama, former U.S. President Donald Trump publicly reprimanded his former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for not taking military action in Venezuela while in office. At a conservative event in Florida, Trump criticized Pompeo for not having 'pulled the trigger' during his tenure.

Trump expressed his discontent with Pompeo before an audience of supporters, implying that the former Secretary of State had not been aggressive enough in his foreign policy. 'I hope he will be a little tougher in the future. It would have been great if he had done something about it,' Trump remarked during the conference.

Trump's comments came after Pompeo praised his administration's policy toward Venezuela during a visit to Panama. In contrast to Trump's stance, Pompeo defended the diplomatic measures implemented at the time, noting that the administration had done everything possible to pressure the Maduro regime.

The former Secretary of State responded to Trump's criticisms by stating that he always followed the President's guidelines and worked to promote U.S. interests in Venezuela. Pompeo also emphasized the international pressure exerted on Maduro's government during his tenure, demonstrating that the situation in the Latin American country was taken seriously.
