The National Assembly has approved the bill that regulates the payment of benefits to employees of state-owned companies in Panama. This document is now awaiting the sanction of President José Raúl Mulino.
According to the proposal, it is established that state-owned companies must pay their employees, in cases of unjustified dismissal, a compensation equivalent to one month of salary for each year worked. Additionally, there is the possibility of paying up to a maximum of six salaries in special cases.
The deputy who presented the initiative highlighted the importance of protecting the rights of workers, especially in the public sector. It is expected that this law will provide greater job security to employees of state-owned companies in the country.
"With this regulation, we seek to guarantee that workers receive fair compensation in case their employment relationship ends unjustifiably," expressed the legislator during the debate in the Assembly.
