President José Raúl Mulino expressed his concern during the inauguration of the new stadium Aristocles "Tocón" Castillo de Veraguas. Mulino mentioned: "It sometimes makes me angry and a bit helpless to see how much it costs the public treasury to rescue these projects. From B/.4.8 million we ended up paying B/.10.4 million, that's like one and a half stadiums."
The Panamanian leader pointed out the importance of being more careful in the management of public funds to avoid cost overruns and misappropriation. Mulino warned that similar situations could recur if adequate measures are not taken in future infrastructure projects.
