National Police Orders Troops for Formation

The National Police of Panama issued a general order for all operational personnel to report for formation on February 20, as part of a national cleanup plan. Units must arrive in full uniform and with complete equipment, coinciding with upcoming protests against changes to the Social Security law.


The National Police has issued a General Order for the Day instructing all its operational uniformed personnel to report for formation on Thursday, February 20, in compliance with the national recovery plan. According to the directive, operational units must report at 06:00 hours at their headquarters, wearing blue work uniforms and full equipment.

The National Directorates will meet in the backyard of the National Directorate of Citizen Security in Ancón, while the Zones and Dependencies of the National Police will do so at their respective headquarters. In the case of the 7th Police Zone of Los Santos and the 6th Police Zone of Herrera, their formation will take place at the headquarters of the 9th Police Zone of Veraguas, at the same time and under the same conditions.

The order highlights the obligation to carry the respective police baton as part of the implementation of the assigned mission. This action occurs amid the massive mobilization that various organizations will carry out nationwide in protest against the changes to the organic law of the Social Security Fund.
