The Minister of Economy and Finance of Panama, Hector Alexander, revealed that once the reforms to the Social Security Fund (CSS) are approved, the government will address the mining issue in the country. He expressed that the mining topic has not been discussed in depth and that the current government intends to do it positively and with 'novel ideas'.

In this context, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Ramón Martínez, highlighted that Panama has potential in the mining sector that can significantly contribute to the country's economic growth. He assured that it is necessary to develop this sector responsibly, taking into account the environmental and social impact it may generate.

For his part, the Minister of Agricultural Development, Augusto Valderrama, emphasized the importance of diversifying the Panamanian economy through mining exploitation. He pointed out that it is essential to find a balance between mining activity and environmental protection.

In this context, the Minister of Culture, Carlos Aguilar, stressed the need to preserve Panama's cultural and natural heritage in any mining project developed in the country. He highlighted that it is fundamental to protect the identity and history of the Panamanian territory.
