During the carnival, the Comptroller's Office sanctioned 139 state vehicle drivers for various infractions. The regulations established in Executive Decree No. 167 of 2021 are clear in requiring that all state vehicles comply with requirements such as having proper documentation, updated plates, and, if used outside of working hours, possessing a travel permit detailing the individuals authorized for the mission. Those drivers who did not comply with these provisions were fined B/. 200, while transport heads must pay a total of B/. 500.

During the operation, 941 vehicles were inspected, detecting 139 of them with irregularities that resulted in the aforementioned sanctions. Cases of drivers without a license, without a travel permit, with expired plates, and without insurance were identified, as well as transporting unauthorized individuals for the mission. Among the entities with the highest number of infractions are the Ministry of Health, Agricultural Development, Education, the Presidency, and personnel from the Colón Free Zone.

The Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic, through its team of inspectors, successfully carried out this operation during the carnival to ensure compliance with the regulations regarding the proper use of the state vehicle fleet. Repeated infractions could lead to the dismissal of the official, according to the provisions of current regulations.
