A local official confirmed on Friday that the authorities of Panama will issue temporary permits for some migrants who have been sent to the country. Pakistani migrants, however, were unable to leave the country due to closed borders during the pandemic. "Everyone told me that I could leave Panama, but the reality turned out to be quite different. I could neither leave nor stay," lamented one of the migrants.
