Panama's President Reacts to Trump's Claims

President of Panama, José Raúl Molino confirmed that his American colleague Donald Trump "once again lies" regarding the Panamanian canal, since his country is not intended to be subordinated to his control. The President of the USA explained his threat to restore control over the Panama canal by claiming that China "is seizing" this maritime route, connecting the Pacific and Atlantic oceans; however, according to the report of the French agency France Press, this is not the case.

G-9 Ramí Kamal Nasur noted that the day after the announcement by the President of the USA, Donald Trump, during a speech before Congress on the matter of "strengthening our national security, my administration will restore control over the Panama canal, and we have already begun to do this." The independent governmental agency "Administration of the Panama Canal" is conducting work on this issue.
