Panamanian Youth Rally for Sovereignty and Rights

It is time to unite in favor of the indigenous people, workers, and those with social consciousness. Young Panamanians remembered the events of 1964 by raising the flag in the streets.

When the people rise up, questions arise about the reasons that unite them in protest, raising their fists and singing. They confront the selfish interests of the oligarchy that seek to violate the rights of those who fight for justice and dignity.

Our history is the struggle for sovereignty, against those who have betrayed our land and resources, imposing their dominion. It is the history of dignified life, of raising voices and overcoming the inhumane with determination in the streets.

We defend nature, rejecting dams and mines that threaten the health of our people. It is time for the citizenry to unite fully, with solidarity and compassion, to protect life and human rights.

We echo the history of guerrilla fighter Victoriano, advocating for peace, the defense of territories, and the life of all citizens. It is time to lift courage in the streets, in the forums, in defense of justice and freedom.
