The Panamanian Chamber of Construction (Capac) has expressed its satisfaction with the recent approval of Law 462 of March 18, 2025, which introduces reforms to the Organic Law of the Social Security Fund (CSS) by the president of the Republic. For Capac, this legislation represents an important step in strengthening the social security system in Panama.
"We believe that this law is a significant advancement for our social security system. After overcoming this challenge, we trust that the government will be able to focus its attention on other relevant issues for the country," stated the Panamanian Chamber of Construction as a private sector guild.
Capac reiterated its commitment to the development of Panama, as well as to the social and economic stability of the nation, committing to collaborate constructively with the government and all sectors to ensure the proper implementation of the law and achieve its objectives.
Regarding the call for a 24-hour strike in the construction sector for Friday, March 21, Capac expressed its firm rejection. It urged the calling groups to exercise their right to peacefully demonstrate without disturbing social peace or harming third parties.
The Panamanian Chamber of Construction concluded by calling for peaceful coexistence and mutual respect for everyone's rights in order to build a united and stronger Panama.
