Panama Police Arrests 137 People in 24 Hours

The National Police of Panama made 137 arrests in 24 hours and carried out various actions related to traffic, including 1,654 tickets and 66 traffic accidents.

Within the framework of the Firmness Plan, the National Police of Panama announced the apprehension of 137 people in the last 24 hours. Of these, 79 were detained for various crimes, 38 for administrative offenses, 16 in flagrante delicto, and 4 for micro-trafficking. Additionally, the sum of B/.397.00 was seized as part of these operations.

During these police actions, 10 search warrants were carried out, resulting in the seizure of five firearms, 122 ammunition, and the recovery of a vehicle that had been reported stolen.

In the area of traffic, a total of 1,654 tickets were issued, highlighting 403 for speeding, 144 for malfunctioning lights, 69 for expired licenses, 20 for driving under the influence of alcohol, six for talking on a cellphone while driving, and eight for showing signs of alcohol breath.

Additionally, 115 vehicles were towed for various reasons, and 66 traffic accidents were recorded, resulting in 30 injuries. These actions are part of the surveillance and control efforts carried out by the authorities to ensure public safety in the country.
