Strengthening Alliances in the PARLATINO

The president of PARLATINO, Rolando González Patricio, emphasizes the importance of inter-parliamentary collaboration between Latin America and Arab countries to promote peace and well-being.

Strengthening Alliances in the PARLATINO

Deputy González Patricio, president of PARLATINO, cited José Martí to express the need for all matters concerning the Republics of the world to be approved and managed with the participation of all Republics. In this sense, he stated that decisions affecting all peoples must include the participation of all of them.

The delegation from PARLATINO, led by González Patricio, also includes Deputy Carlos Núñez Salinas, Alternate President of the Organization. The objective of the alliance between PARLATINO and the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (UIP-Arab) is to promote dialogue and integration between the Latin American, Caribbean regions and Arab countries. They aim to promote a safe, peaceful, just, equitable, inclusive, sustainable, and prosperous world for the benefit of all humanity.

In the framework of the 38th UIP-Arab conference in Algeria, a Letter of Intent was signed between the president of PARLATINO, Deputy Rolando González Patricio, and parliamentarian Brahim Boughali of the National Assembly of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria. This cooperation seeks to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy, defend the just causes of peoples, and promote peace and multilateralism.

The cooperation instrument mentions the creation of ARALAC, an inter-parliamentary platform that will be established to defend common interests of both regions. González Patricio emphasized the importance of ARALAC as a forum for exchanging experiences, better understanding each other, and building peace through more democratic international relations.
