Panamanian authorities are conducting operations against criminal gangs. In the city of Colón, during operations 'Límite' and 'Odisea', a criminal structure known as the 'Niños de Libia' gang was dismantled. This group has ties to the 'Real Gansgter For Life (RG4L)' criminal organization and is composed of both adults and minors. The operation resulted in the arrest of 21 individuals, including 12 adults and 5 teenagers allegedly linked to gang activities in the province, as well as 3 people for other crimes and one undocumented foreigner. More than 45 search warrants were executed, seven of them directed by the Prosecutor's Office for Adolescents and 38 by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Illicit Association crimes. In Coclé province, operation 'Seiton' led to the arrest of 11 members of the 'Tropa BB o Grupo BB' gang, including its supposed leader, alias 'Bebé'. The gang is attributed with serious crimes such as homicide, attempted homicide, personal injury, drug trafficking, unlawful deprivation of liberty, and illegal possession of firearms. Three of those arrested were minors. The apprehended individuals and evidence will be turned over to the judicial authorities to be presented before a Judge of Guarantees in the coming hours.
