The Minister of Labor and Labor Development, Jackeline Muñoz de Cedeño, led an inspection at the companies Revisalud and Serviaseo S.A., responsible for waste collection in San Miguelito, to verify the working conditions of their employees. During the tour, the head of Labor denounced that, despite six inspections carried out this year, the companies have not complied with the adjustments required by Mitradel, keeping collaborators in inhumane conditions, without adequate bathrooms, without access to drinking water, and with trucks supported on blocks, putting their lives at risk. Muñoz de Cedeño informed that a 3-day deadline was given to the companies to respond and resolve the irregularities detected, warning that if they do not do so, the corresponding reprimand will be carried out, as established by law. "One cannot play with the health or safety of workers," she emphasized. "They perform an essential job and deserve respect and decent conditions," the minister added. She also assured that Mitradel will remain vigilant regarding the expiration of the contract between Revisalud, Serviaseo, and the Municipality of San Miguelito, to guarantee that no worker has their rights violated and reaffirmed the commitment of President José Raúl Mulino's government to continue promoting decent employment, social justice, and respect for the Panamanian working class.
