The President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, assured that his Government is building a prosperous future for Panama, with the promise that the year 2026 will be marked by a profound transformation and the materialization of long-postponed solutions to social problems. After participating in the traditional Te Deum Ecumenical of Patriotic Festivities, President Mulino called for national unity, urging all productive and political sectors to work together for the future of the Nation: “The country demands it and the Panamanian people too,” he emphasized. The president announced that the social and prosperity component will be part of his message to the Nation on the upcoming January 2, 2026. He informed that this year the producer Rodolfo Moreno was chosen as the flag bearer, “a man of the field, businessman and producer,” in honor of the agricultural sector, “an activity with which I identify,” he added. The president highlighted the coordinated work between the First Lady's Office, the Ministry of Government, and the Civil Protection System (Sinaproc). Finally, the head of state called for celebrating these patriotic festivities with order and tranquility. Although he will keep the details under reserve until that date, he advanced that he is building this future “with much patriotic love and good faith so that the entire country understands and complies with it.” The pillars of this vision include the allocation of greater resources for the social sector, public infrastructure, and road solutions. To these are added the government's efforts to provide effective responses to the affected population in areas hit by the last floods, especially in the farthest areas from the capital.
