The President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, held a productive meeting with members of the Los Santos Municipal Council, at the end of which he gave concrete instructions to accelerate numerous projects and solutions in the province. Mulino explained that this point will be consulted with the Minister of Security, Frank Ábrego. During the meeting, the head of the Executive emphasized the high-impact projects for the Azuero Peninsula, aimed at improving the quality of life for the residents of the provinces of Los Santos and Herrera. Among them, he highlighted the rehabilitation of the Tonosí – Cambutal road; the new Anita Moreno Hospital and the soon-to-be-inaugurated interchange at the exit of the city of Chitré. In response to this, Mulino instructed to make these plans viable, exploring financing through the Decentralization funds or the Ministry of Government. Additionally, he instructed the MOP to promptly address requests for the development of production roads in several Los Santos districts. On the housing issue, the council members requested support for priority housing projects. The focus of the presidential directives is on road works, the new hospital, housing plans, garbage collection, and security. Accompanying the Head of State were the President of the National Assembly, Jorge Herrera; the Ministers José Luis Andrade (Public Works) and Jaime Jované (Housing and Territorial Ordering); the Mayor of the district of Los Santos, Raúl Montenegro; the Secretary of Public Affairs of the Ministry of the Presidency, Mercedes González; and the Director of the Budget, Aurelio Mejía. The councilors requested the Executive's support to promote a project for the rehabilitation of the Municipal Council building.
