Electoral bodies from Africa, Europe, and the Americas, along with universities and independent experts, have chosen magistrate Narciso J. Arellano Moreno, president of the Electoral Tribunal of Panama, to head the World Network for Electoral Justice (WNEJ). With this, the country assumes a new commitment to promoting democratic values and transparency in electoral justice. The selection process for Mr. Arellano was carried out in accordance with established procedures and with the participation of the various bodies and institutions that make up the international electoral community. «I am pleased to inform you that 100% of the members who cast their vote expressed their approval of his candidacy, which reflects a recognition of his leadership,» stated Alberto Guevara Castro, technical secretary of the WNEJ. The WNEJ brings together electoral tribunals and judicial bodies from various countries to exchange experiences and best practices in the field of electoral justice. «I am sure that this renewal will bring very positive results for the advancement of our common objectives,» concluded Guevara Castro. His priority is to strengthen global democracy by promoting electoral integrity, judicial independence, equity, and addressing challenges such as disinformation, fake news, and the use of social media in electoral processes.
