Head of Panama's Electoral Tribunal to Lead Global Network for Electoral Justice

The president of Panama's Electoral Tribunal has been elected to lead the Global Network for Electoral Justice, reinforcing the country's commitment to democratic values and electoral transparency.

The president of Panama's Electoral Tribunal (TE), Narciso Arellano Moreno, has been chosen to lead the Global Network for Electoral Justice (GNEJ), an organization that brings together electoral tribunals and judicial bodies from various countries around the world.

With his appointment, Panama assumes a new commitment to promoting democratic values and transparency in electoral justice.

The GNEJ's priority is to strengthen global democracy by promoting electoral integrity, judicial independence, equity, and addressing challenges such as disinformation, fake news, and the use of social media in electoral processes.

Arellano Moreno was appointed as a magistrate of the TE for the 2025-2034 term and is currently the president of the institution.

Alberto Guevara Castro, the technical secretary of the GNEJ, stated that 100% of the members who voted expressed their approval of Arellano's candidacy, "which reflects a recognition of his leadership."
