The incident occurred at a residence in the La Represa community, bordering the Panama-Colón highway. Two individuals forcibly entered the home and shot an elderly man in the left side of the abdomen. A National Police patrol, which was in the area, heard the shots and responded. During the subsequent operation, a 15-year-old minor was apprehended. The 70-year-old victim, Rubén Arias Sibera, was initially taken to the Sabanitas Polyclinic and later transferred to a hospital in Colón. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at 9:40 p.m. in the Dr. Manuel Amador Guerrero Hospital Complex. The perpetrators fled through the back of the house into a wooded area, taking a newly acquired Samsung A36 mobile phone with them.
Elderly man killed during home invasion in Panama
A 70-year-old man died from a gunshot wound during a home invasion. The suspects were apprehended by police.
