A 23-year-old man is under investigation for attempted murder. The incident occurred in May of this year in the Pueblo Nuevo community, San Juan district, Colón province, in the Transístmica area. The accused was presented before a guarantees judge of the Accusatory Penal System (SPA), who ordered preventive detention as a precautionary measure. The judicial process began on May 18, 2025, when the suspect arrived at the victim's residence in Pueblo Nuevo and shot him multiple times with a firearm, injuring him on the spot. The alleged attacker was arrested on November 11, 2025, during a raid conducted by the Public Ministry in conjunction with the National Police in the Nuevo Vigía area. The man was arrested after being charged with the crime against life and personal integrity. Furthermore, his apprehension was legalized, and he was charged with the crime of aggravated intentional homicide in the attempt stage. The investigation is being carried out by the Specialized Homicide and Femicide Section of the Colón and Guna Yala Regional Prosecutor's Office.
