University of Panama Approves 2026 Academic Calendar

The University of Panama has announced key dates for the summer 2025 session and both 2026 semesters, including enrollment, class schedules, exams, and administrative periods. Dates for rector elections and holidays have also been revealed.


The University of Panama approved its academic calendar for 2026, as reported by the university's informational journal, UP Informa. The document details key dates for the summer of 2025, the first semester of 2026, and the second semester of 2026, covering processes such as enrollment, start of classes, exams, grade submission, and administrative periods. The start of the semester is scheduled for March 23, which also marks the beginning of the withdrawal and inclusion period, which will run until April 11. Enrollment for the first semester 2026 for new students will be from March 2 to 7, and for the rest of the students from March 9 to 21. The last day of classes will be July 4, followed by final exams from July 6 to 18. Enrollment for the second semester will be from August 3 to 15. The last day of classes will be November 27, and final exams will be from November 30 to December 12. The withdrawal and inclusion period will run from August 17 to September 5. Enrollment for summer courses will be from January 5 to 10, 2026, with classes starting on January 12 and ending on February 21. Summer session final exams will be held from February 23 to 28. Make-up exams will be from December 15 to 22. The mandatory 15-day vacation for administrative staff will be from December 16 to 30, while for professors, it will be in January 2027. It should be remembered that Carnival next year will be from February 14 to 17. The UP will also hold elections to choose the next rector, as well as deans and directors of regional centers, on Wednesday, July 1, that is, in the last week of classes of the semester.
