In Panama, elections for new leadership of political parties are underway. Two main groups are competing for the leadership of the Arnulfo Arias party. The Panameñista Party will hold its extraordinary national convention at the Vasco Núñez de Balboa Convention Center of the Hotel Panama. The Revolutionary Democratic Party (PRD) and the Panameñista Party have disclosed the members of their vote counting boards and the representatives for the polling stations where their political groups will cast their votes for their internal processes next Sunday, November 23. Two main slates are running for the leadership of the Arnulfo Arias party. The first slate is led by Jorge Luis Herrera, a deputy and current president of the Assembly, supported by Juan Carlos Varela. For the position of General Secretary, there are eight candidates, including Balbina Herrera and Pedro Miguel González. The first slate is headed by Carlos Raúl Piad, supported by Mireya Moscoso. There will be 10 polling tables, and the vote counting board will be chaired by Víctor 'Chachi' De Gracia, accompanied by Enrique Jaén (secretary), Bryan González (member), and Roberto Lide (alternate). The vote counting board will be chaired by Liseika Ruiz; José Tejada will be the secretary and Priscilla de Miró, the member. For the first vice-presidency, Bernardo Meneses is running, who is currently provisionally detained. From the PRD, it was learned through Electoral Bulletin No. 5940-A of the resignation of Aníbal Alba as a candidate for the first sub-secretaryship; Rubén Moreira and Anel Rodríguez, both for the second vice-presidency of the party. On that day, a new General Secretary, two vice-presidents, and two General Sub-secretaries will be chosen. There will be 11 polling tables for the delegates to choose the slate of their preference. The alternate will be Hermes Ortega. The Extraordinary National Directory, in which half of the leadership positions will be renewed, will take place at the Westin Playa Bonita Hotel, in Veracruz.
