In an anti-drug operation carried out in the Altos de la Pradera neighborhood of the San Miguelito district, Panama, four people were apprehended and 453 packages of a suspected illicit substance were seized. The operation, named 'Operation Sacramento,' was conducted by units of the National Anti-Drugs Directorate of the National Police and the Public Ministry in one of the homes in the area. During a search warrant, a drug cache was located. It appears the drugs were to be moved in a panel van parked at the residence, as the sealed packages in black plastic were packed in boxes and suitcases, arranged in the living room. During the so-called 'Operation Sacramento,' anti-drug units also found $7,000 in the residence, presumed to be proceeds from criminal activities, as well as seven mobile phones. The property is believed to have been used as a 'safe house' where drugs were stored before being transported to their final destination.
