A 30-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man have been placed under provisional detention for their alleged connection to a double homicide. The victims are 25-year-old Vivian Vianeth Vega and her partner in the province of Herrera. It is reported that the detained woman is a relative of an official in Azuero. Julissa Saturno, a guarantees judge for the province of Herrera, ordered the detention for the crimes of aggravated homicide and criminal association. This violent event occurred in the early morning of September 25th outside a residence on Aminta Burgos Street in Chitré. The prosecution alleges that the suspects shot at the victims from a vehicle. The prosecutor for the case was Edilma Flores, while the defendants were represented by the private defender Arquimedes Sáez, who announced an appeal against the precautionary measure imposed by the judge.
