In a significant blow to drug trafficking, Panama's National Aeronaval Service (Senan) reported two drug seizure operations in different parts of the country.
The first operation was carried out in the southwest of Isla San José, in the Archipelago of Las Perlas, in the Eastern Pacific. At this location, authorities seized a total of 618 packages of presumed illicit substance, distributed in 13 bales. During the operation, two men were detained, one of Colombian nationality and the other Nicaraguan, who were apprehended for their alleged involvement in drug trafficking.
The second case occurred at the Port Terminal in the Pacific Zone of the province of Panama. There, Senan agents discovered 78 packages of what is presumed to be drugs, hidden in a semi-trailer. A man was arrested at the scene for the crime against Collective Security, in relation to this finding.
Both operations were coordinated by the Drug Prosecutor's Office, which is now handling the corresponding investigations to determine the details of these cases.
