Norway's Foreign Minister announced his country's interest in investing in Panama, including the Canal's projects, during a meeting with his Panamanian counterpart in Oslo. The parties also discussed cooperation on maritime governance, environmental protection, and UN peace initiatives.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Panama, Javier Martínez, held a high-level meeting in Oslo with his Norwegian counterpart, Espen Barth Eide. During the meeting, Eide expressed Norway's interest in investing in Panama, both in public projects and in projects executed by the Panama Canal. The Norwegian minister also thanked Panama for its support in the regulation and control of oil tankers, as well as for its initiatives within the UN aimed at preserving world peace. Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to maritime governance. They also agreed on the importance of environmental and ocean protection policies and the need to promote sustainable economic growth. The meeting took place in the context of Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino's visit to Oslo for the Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony to Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, which Eide highlighted as a clear demonstration of Panama's commitment to democracy and international law.
