The voluntary repatriation flight for Venezuelans scheduled for today has been rescheduled, confirmed Foreign Minister Javier Martínez, due to incomplete documentation from Venezuela.
According to his explanation, the necessary permits for overflight and landing have not yet been formalized, which prevents the operation from being carried out in accordance with the established agreements.
“Our consulate in Caracas is making the necessary arrangements so that the flight can take place as soon as possible,” he assured.
The minister reiterated that Panama maintains its willingness to dialogue, but emphasized that procedures must be complied with as established by international regulations.
According to statistics, 59 repatriation flights for migrants have already been carried out, the majority of whom entered Panama through the Darién jungle.
