Minister Navarro, accompanied by regional director Katherine Hurley and SINAP coordinator Luis Carles, conducted an inspection of the rehabilitation works at Altos de Campana National Park. They evaluated the condition of restored trails, lookout points, and visitor facilities, as well as the new sanitation installations. The works include the rehabilitation of the Los Pinos camping area, construction of new public restrooms, and updates to scenic viewpoints. In January, the Cruz trail will open, and similar interventions are planned for other national parks such as Camino de Cruces, Soberanía, Portobelo, and San Lorenzo.
"The invitation to families, hikers, scientists, and other people to visit Altos de Campana National Park and enjoy its attractions," Hurley emphasized.
The minister confirmed that the project, financed by the IDB and carried out by Panamericana BC, Inc., will strengthen the national protected areas system and make Panama’s mountains and canals even more accessible to visitors.
