According to the entity, it is an investigation for alleged aggravated embezzlement, but it is not related to or affects the Social Security Fund. The institution was emphatic in stating that the case is not to the detriment of the CSS. From the entity, it was made clear that this situation corresponds to the personal sphere of the investigated executive and has no relation whatsoever to the decisions, functions, or actions of the Board of Directors as a collegiate body, nor with the daily management of the institution. CSS emphasized that the facts under investigation do not represent the values, principles, or institutional conduct that govern the Social Security Fund, a key entity for millions of Panamanians.
