In Panama, two grandsons were arrested for subjecting their 57-year-old grandmother to daily humiliations and harassment for over a year. A judge issued an arrest warrant after the prosecution presented evidence of their guilt.

Panama - A 57-year-old adult woman suffered for over a year from the humiliations and daily harassment inflicted on her by her two 21 and 26-year-old grandsons. Following the start of an investigation into this matter by the Specialized Family Section of the West Panama Regional Prosecutor's Office, an arrest warrant was issued for the two suspects. During a multiple-request hearing held in the Accusatory Penal System (SPA), the prosecution presented the evidence that proved the verbal abuse and demeaning words with which the victim was treated. Consequently, the guarantees judge charged the 21-year-old man and the 26-year-old woman with the crime against the legal and family order, in the modality of domestic violence. Additionally, a provisional detention order was issued for both individuals due to the risk of reoffending against the victim and her family.
