Vehicle Fleet and New Equipment Disappear from Panama's Inadeh Institute

Workers at Panama's Inadeh professional training institute have reported the disappearance of a 5-6 car vehicle fleet and new specialized equipment worth thousands of dollars during the previous administration. They have filed a complaint with law enforcement for investigation.

According to Ortega, vehicle fleets left the institution and also new equipment in boxes disappeared overnight. This was reported by Luis Ortega, from the Association of Workers of Inadeh, who this week filed a complaint with the Public Ministry, Comptroller General's Office, and Antai. The leader highlighted that the administrative staff and directors of Inadeh have already filed the corresponding complaints, however, as an association, they also acted to expedite the investigations. "That is part of the complaint filed with the Public Ministry, as well as all the sophisticated and specialized equipment to teach the courses that disappeared new in package from the Inadeh warehouses," he stated. The complainant added that they do not know where the fleet, composed of 5 to 6 cars, is. A vehicle fleet and new equipment would have disappeared from the National Institute of Professional Training and Human Resource Development (Inadeh) during the past administration. Regarding the vehicle fleet, Ortega said that there are images, which he cannot show because they are part of the investigation. Ortega also attacked the PRD administration, which he described as nefarious and responsible for destroying professional training in the country. "There were cases in which this PRD administration took the professional training equipment, sophisticated, specialized, they stacked it in a room and practically left it there to get damaged and today that equipment is obsolete," he added. "We are talking about thousands and thousands of dollars that disappeared in new, sophisticated equipment, rolls, entire spools of cables and to this day no one has been found guilty," he told Nex Noticias. The official specified that the justification given at the time for the disposal of the equipment was the demolition of the old building to build another one.
