The National Police reported the seizure of four firearms, various illicit substances, and technological equipment within La Joya Penitentiary Center. According to the police force, these seizures are the result of Operation Armageddon, carried out in the aforementioned center and at various points throughout the country. In this regard, the National Police informed of the execution of various operational actions in different areas of the 24 de Diciembre district, reinforcing police presence and crime prevention. "These police actions were carried out within the framework of Operation Odyssey, which aims to guarantee order, social peace, and combat illicit activities," highlighted the National Police. Continuing with Operation Odyssey in the Río Abajo district, one person was apprehended after locating a pistol-type firearm, a magazine, ammunition, and a plastic bag with a presumed illicit substance. In the course of the Armageddon operation at the La Joya Penitentiary Center, four firearms, presumed drugs, technological equipment, and other prohibited items were seized. In a video posted on social media X, Major Gustavo Serrano stated that in recent hours, as Operation Odyssey continues, 74 checkpoints remain active, 8,460 people have been verified, and search warrants have led to the apprehension of 15 individuals—13 by warrant and two caught in the act. Firearms, as well as ammunition and illicit substances, were also recovered. Additionally, packages of cigarettes, individual cigars, lighters, cell phones, cell phone chargers, and perfume containers were seized.
