Panama's President to Attend Davos Forum

Panama's President José Raúl Mulino will travel to Switzerland to attend the Davos Forum, where he will promote the country's logistics and port potential, through which a significant portion of world trade passes.

The president of Panama, José Raúl Mulino, will travel to Switzerland next Sunday to participate in the Davos Forum, where he will promote the logistics and port power of his country, which houses the interoceanic canal through which between 3% and 6% of world trade passes. 'I am leaving early on Sunday for Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum and attend a good number of meetings with presidents and business leaders worldwide, mostly related to logistics, maritime, and port issues of the Republic of Panama,' the ruler declared this Thursday during his weekly press conference. Mulino specified that he will have the 'opportunity to explain and share' the competitive advantages of Panama 'one-on-one, and in forums where presidents of America and the prime minister of the Netherlands will participate,' with whom the Panamanian president will share 'a dialogue on the port and logistics matter,' in which this nation is 'one of the European powers.' Among the most outstanding confirmed presences are that of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, his counterparts from Argentina and Ukraine (Javier Milei and Volodimir Zelensky, respectively), and the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. The Davos Forum will receive in its 56th edition, to be held from January 19 to 23, some 3,000 economic and political leaders, including 1,700 business representatives from 130 countries, as well as some 60 ministers of Economy and Finance, a thirty of Trade and as many others of Foreign Affairs.
