Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino confirmed his attendance at the inauguration of José Antonio Kast as the new ruler of the Southern Cone country in March and praised the relationship between the two Central American countries on Friday. "We have much to do together in strategic matters and we are brotherly countries," Mulino wrote on his X account. The message was accompanied by the invitation to the "Presidential Inauguration Transmission," which will take place in the cities of Santiago and Valparaíso on March 10 and 11, 2026, signed by outgoing Chilean President Gabriel Boric. The elected president of Chile is one of the speakers at the International Economic Forum, which will be held on January 28 and 29 in the Panamanian capital, organized by the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean CAF and the country's government. The forum, which will address how to position Latin America and the Caribbean on the global stage, will also feature the participation of the presidents of Panama, Brazil's Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva; Bolivia's Rodrigo Paz; Ecuador's Daniel Noboa; Guatemala's Bernardo Arévalo; as well as the Prime Minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holness, according to the event's agenda. "We will be together in January and I will go in March. Chile is the main South American user of the Canal. Together we will be stronger!!" Mulino added.
