Authorities have sounded the alarm, as the three attacks share a pattern that is chilling the province: knives were used. The Regional Prosecutor's Office of Coclé and the National Police are maintaining operations in the area to try to find those responsible. A man of about 40 years old was murdered with a knife in the community of Pozo Azul, in the district of Chiguirí Arriba, province of Coclé. The attack occurred this Monday, around 6:40 in the evening, as darkness began to cover the area. According to initial reports, the man was intercepted in what is presumed to have been an attempted robbery. The victim had moved just a few months ago from the capital to this remote area of Coclé, seeking the security that the destination ultimately took from him. This crime marks an alarming figure: Coclé has already registered three homicides in January 2026.
