Panama's Vice Minister of Foreign Trade, Carlos Hoyos, announced that the invitation to the G-20 summit in Miami is the result of President José Raúl Mulino's successful diplomatic efforts. This event will strengthen the country's international image and open new avenues for cooperation with the United States.

Panama's Vice Minister of Foreign Trade, Carlos Hoyos, explained on Wednesday that the invitation from the United States for Panama to participate in the G-20 Summit of Heads of State in Miami, Florida, this year is an achievement that enhances the country's projection, secured thanks to the management of President José Raúl Mulino during his current visit to Davos. "The President, with clarity, strategy, and prudence, managed the times outstandingly. Proof of this is the invitation received today from the U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, to participate in the Heads of State Summit in Florida, which is also the result of the meeting held last week in Washington between Secretary Rubio and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Javier Martínez Acha Vásquez," stated Vice Minister Hoyos in a message to the nation. "The canal is Panamanian, it will have major investment projects that will generate opportunities, and we have a strong relationship in the commercial and security sphere with the United States of America, our main trading partner. This Heads of State Summit will allow Panama to rub shoulders with leaders of the 20 largest economies in the world. In diplomacy, it is better to do than to say, to work than to declaim, and that is what we do in this government, with a firm step," he stated. "He has diplomatic intelligence, which allows him to evolve positively in situations of conflict."
