Teacher union leader Diógenes Sánchez reported this week that the dismissed teachers are in a dramatic situation awaiting a resolution to their case. Despite repeated calls from the Ministry of Education for them to return to their posts, the teachers did not comply, leading to their dismissal. The leader detailed that over 200 dismissed teachers are awaiting a decision on the legality of their termination. According to the leader, the administrative procedure has been so delayed that they have not even received their dismissal papers. In this regard, he pointed out that there are truly complex cases of educators on the verge of losing their properties. "It is a quite dramatic situation," Sánchez told Nex Noticias. "We have colleagues whose banks are already carrying out processes to seize their cars, their homes." In 2025, dozens of teachers were separated from their positions due to their participation in protests against Law 462, which reforms the Social Security Fund. "We have dramatic cases, we have colleagues who are selling their houses."
