The National Police of Panama, as part of 'Plan Firmeza', conducted major operations in the last 24 hours, apprehending 166 people, seizing weapons and drugs, and issuing thousands of traffic fines.

Within the framework of the 'Plan Firmeza', the National Police have apprehended 166 people nationwide in the last 24 hours. Of these, 108 were for official reasons, 47 for administrative offenses, five caught in the act, and two for micro-trafficking. A total of 24 search warrants were executed, five firearms, two ammunition, $12,696.00 in cash, 84 reeds with white powder, bags with dry grass, and other substances were seized. Additionally, 122 vehicles were towed for various reasons. There were 112 traffic accidents, resulting in 32 injured and one fatal victim from a hit-and-run in the province of Veraguas. A total of 1,310 traffic violations were issued: 214 for speeding, 83 for improper lights, 32 for expired licenses, 15 for talking on a cell phone, and 19 for proven intoxication.
