The Ministry of Education (Meduca) published this Wednesday the official list of teachers selected in the General Contest of Appointment for the 2026 school year. All of this is established by Executive Decree 56. Meduca was also firm: internal transfers, changes of educational center or subject for which the teacher was not appointed are prohibited. Violating this norm exposes one to sanctions, as the law mandates. The complete list of selected teachers can be consulted on the official website of the Ministry of Education at meduca.gob.pa. These are the teachers and professors who secured the position and now have a deadline to ensure their appointment. According to the information, the selected educators must take office from February 19 to 25, directly at the Regional Directorate of Education corresponding to their educational center. Those who do not appear automatically lose the position and are excluded from any other appointment during this school year. To be able to assume the position, the teacher must bring their papers in order: a copy of their ID, a physical health certificate, a mental health certificate, and a criminal record issued by the DIJ. Meduca warned that these documents must coincide with those previously uploaded to the official platform. In case of disagreement, Meduca made it clear that a reconsideration appeal can be filed, but time is limited. The claim must be filed within five business days following the last publication of the list, also between February 19 and 25, 2026, either at the Superior Office or at the regional directorates. The appeal can be made by the teacher themselves or a lawyer, on simple paper, detailing personal data, identification of the contest, grounds for the claim, evidence, and the corresponding legal backing.
