Deputy Raúl Pineda made serious accusations against the mayor of San Miguelito, Irma Hernández, by assuring that she granted a direct contract for 30 thousand dollars to her boyfriend for a consultancy on garbage collection and that, in addition, she has not presented any report on that work.
According to Pineda, while the mayor avoids explaining that contract, she also refuses to pay severance pay to former municipal workers, alleging that there is no money in the municipal coffers.
The deputy's statements come after Hernández accused him on social networks of being a liar, after warning that she would file a habeas data because she had not received information on hiring, consultancies, and pending payments within the mayor's office.
The deputy assured that the mayor's version is false and that the information was not delivered on time or completely. "Today (yesterday) at four in the afternoon they sent some boxes with incomplete information to get out of the trouble, but we are still waiting. We are going to make another request to clarify many contracts and consultancies that the mayor's office has made," he stated.
Pineda also questioned that companies hired for garbage collection and another that demolished the kiosks in San Miguelito do not appear in the reports, despite handling contracts for thousands of dollars.
The deputy emphasized that Hernández must explain why more than 500 former municipal employees continue to not receive their severance pay, while, he said, more than 600 new hires have been made. "It would be good if she explained why, if there is no money to pay severance pay, there is money for appointments," he questioned.
