The defense has filed a complaint against a prosecutor in Colón for the alleged violation of seals on evidence in a criminal investigation. According to the defense, in a previous incident, a guarantees judge had determined that there was indeed a violation of rights during the investigation. The second administrative complaint is related to irregularities detected in the handling of the evidence and with a topography survey carried out within the investigation. According to the version presented by the defense, during that survey, the prosecutor would have prevented the participation of the substitute defense lawyer and would also have opposed the expert making detailed notes on the location and condition of the furniture at the scene where the events presumably occurred. For the lawyers in the case, these elements are relevant for the reconstruction of the investigated scene and for the effective exercise of the right to defense. They requested an investigation. Faced with this situation, the defense requested that the corresponding authorities investigate both the alleged violation of public seals and the administrative acts denounced, with the aim of determining if irregularities occurred within the criminal investigation. To date, the Public Prosecutor's Office has not issued an official position on the allegations made against the official.
Defense Accuses Colon Prosecutor of Rights Violation
Lawyers have filed a criminal complaint against prosecutor Shadyra Hasbi for the alleged violation of seals on digital evidence during an investigation. The defense claims the evidence packaging was damaged, potentially violating established protocols. Two additional complaints have also been filed against the prosecutor's actions.
