A 28-year-old man is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in the Guna Yala region, resulting in her pregnancy. The suspect was arrested, and the court ordered his provisional detention.


Man faces justice for raping minor in Panama

A 28-year-old man faced initial justice in the province of Colón for being linked to the rape of a minor, who became pregnant as a result of these sexual assaults. The incident occurred in the Guna Yala region.

This case dates back to mid-October 2024, when, according to initial investigations, the subject sexually abused a 13-year-old minor in the Guna Yala region, resulting in a pregnancy.

Once the Guna Yala Prosecutor's Office became aware of the case, it initiated investigations, and on March 21, the accused was finally apprehended.

During the hearing, the Prosecutor's Office requested the legalization of the apprehension and the formulation of charges against this man, requests that were admitted.

The Guna Yala Prosecutor's Office also succeeded in having the court apply provisional detention for the crime of aggravated rape.

The case continues to be investigated by the Municipal Prosecutor's Office of Guna Yala.
