Panama - An 18-year-old youth is facing three charges for crimes related to an attack on the life of a taxi driver and his passenger in a violent incident that occurred last December in the province of Colon.
This investigation began on December 10, 2025, in the Altos de Los Lagos community, in the district of Cristóbal Este, when a selective transport driver and his co-pilot were attacked with a firearm, with the latter dying. He was identified as Javier Hurtado, 34 years old.
During the hearing, the Public Prosecutor presented the elements of conviction before the Guarantee Court, which led to the charges being filed against this citizen. At this hearing, a provisional detention measure was ordered for this sixth person, an 18-year-old youth, linked to the crimes of aggravated homicide, attempted homicide, and illicit association for criminal purposes.
The case is handled by the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Nation through the Specialized Homicide and Femicide Section of the Regional Prosecutor's Office of Colon and Guna Yala.
