Cleaning begins at center after riots; damage assessed and minors relocated

A cleaning and recovery operation is underway this Wednesday at a Comprehensive Care Center following recent riots that forced intervention and institutional support. Early in the morning, staff from the Community Board and other entities entered the center to carry out sanitation, waste removal, and space reorganization. These actions aim to restore minimum living conditions after days of tension within the shelter. Among the tasks being performed are deep cleaning of common areas, refurbishment of dormitories, and recovery of damaged furniture. Mattresses, equipment, and other items have been taken to the patio for evaluation, repair, or disposal. This operation follows the vandalism incidents of recent days, perpetrated by some of the teenagers housed there, which left considerable material damage and put both staff and minors at risk. During the incidents, attempts to escape, thefts, and disorder within the facility were reported.
