Panama Deports Over 50 Colombians

Panama's National Migration Service deported 56 Colombian citizens to Medellin. The operation was carried out in compliance with immigration law and as part of an agreement with the US.


Panama Deports Over 50 Colombians

Panama, April 1, 2026. A total of 56 Colombian citizens were deported and expelled by the National Migration Service (SNM) to Medellin, Colombia, in compliance with Panamanian immigration law. The expelled citizens had criminal records for various offenses, including international drug trafficking, aggravated homicide, manufacturing, carrying, and trafficking of weapons, for irregular re-entry into Panama, crimes associated with extortion, use of false documentation, motor vehicle theft, receiving, and fraud, among others. Of the total number of people transferred, 35 were deported for non-compliance with immigration law, and 21 were expelled. Likewise, 49 are male and 7 are female. The return operation was carried out from Marcos A. Gelabert Airport and is part of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Panama and the United States, which establishes cooperation mechanisms for an orderly, safe, and lawful migration management.
