It is truly a regrettable mistake by the World Baseball and Softball Confederation (WBSC) to have decided at the last minute to cancel the first Baseball Americas Cup, citing operational and logistical inconveniences. What a shame! I insist that those most interested in clarifying everything must be our authorities, because Panama's name has been tarnished. For whatever reasons or excuses that all those involved in the organization of this international event may give, the correct and proper thing is to tell the truth about what really happened. It is irresponsible to run and hide with excuses, or, what is worse, to blame each other when one must face realities. Apart from being a shame for an organization that boasts of being a model like the WBSC. And in this case, Pandeportes, as a representative body of the state, since it is a sporting event, had to be aware of the responsibility it would assume to guarantee the success of this international competition that would bring together the twelve best teams on the continent. I insist that an explanation must be demanded from them, and in turn, an apology must be demanded from the world's highest baseball body.
