Panama's baseball team has secured its spot for the upcoming Central American and Caribbean Games, which will be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from July 24 to August 8, 2026. The information was confirmed by the president of the Panamanian Baseball Federation (Fedebeis) and executive member of COPABE, Jaime Robinson. It should be noted that qualification for these games was to be determined at the America Cup, but it has been postponed, and there is currently no date for its realization. «Considering the WBSC (World Baseball & Softball Confederation) Ranking, it was decided to grant qualification to the following National Federations, being Mexico (#3 in America), Puerto Rico (#4 in America), Panama (#5 in America), Cuba (#6 in America) and Colombia (#8 in America),» explains a statement from WBSC Americas. The Dominican Republic, as the host country, is automatically qualified for the Central American and Caribbean Games, and Nicaragua, as the Central American champion, is also duly qualified. It was also explained that an eighth spot will be available for a qualifying tournament to be held in the Bahamas from December 1 to 9.
